Dear Students and Families,

We have made the decision to stop students bringing spray deodorants, aftershaves and perfumes into the Academy, due to the vast amount of spray being used within the changing rooms and around the building.

This will start with immediate effect.

Instead, you are welcome to bring roll-on or stick deodorants/anti-perspirants. Please see the image below of examples of roll on/stick deodorant/anti-perspirants that are acceptable.

• Health & Safety: Spray products can trigger asthma and other respiratory issues, some of which are unknown, for some students and staff.
• Overuse & Misuse: Excessive spraying can cause discomfort and lingering smells that affect others.
• Environmental Impact: Aerosols contribute to air pollution and are less eco-friendly than roll-ons or sticks.
• Waste & Litter: Empty spray cans are often discarded improperly, contributing to litter and waste in changing areas.

We are aware that immediately purchasing new deodorants/anti-perspirants can be difficult for some so please speak with PE staff if you need any support.
