Student article about upcoming Shireland CBSO Academy makes debut in the local news

West Bromwich Collegiate Academy student, Alissa, has made her mark in the Halesowen News with her article about the new Shireland CBSO Academy, which is set to open this September, as part of The Young Reporter Scheme.

Offering students ages 14-18 the opportunity to write for newspapers with the chance of having their work featured online, The Young Reporter Scheme provides eight months of journalist experience during the school term, providing valuable writing and skill building development.

In her article, Alissa explores the school’s unique partnership between Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), which also caught the attention of the Trust’s Marketing Team, who have invited her for a tour of the new school and an exclusive meeting with Sir Mark Grundy, CEO of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust.
