Students at West Bromwich Collegiate Academy are celebrating today after receiving their much-anticipated GCSE results. This marks a significant milestone as the Academy’s first GCSE cohort, opening doors to the next steps in their education, whether that be A level or vocational courses at college, sixth form or in apprenticeships.
Principal, George Faux, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments in what is a landmark year for our Academy. As our first ever Year 11 cohort, they have set a high standard for future students, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication to their learning. This also reflects the unwavering commitment of our staff, whose support has been instrumental in guiding our students to success.
“It has been a privilege to witness our students not only excel academically but also grow into outstanding members of our community. On behalf of everyone at West Bromwich Collegiate Academy, I wish them every success and happiness for their future endeavours.”
The results highlight particularly strong performances across several key subjects, where students excelled particularly in English, Biology, History, Art and Religious Studies. A number of students also went on to achieve exceptional outcomes, attaining multiple grades at 8 and 9.
Student highlights include Arun, who achieved an impressive grade 9 in History alongside six grade 8s. Niah excelled with a grade 9 in both English and Biology in addition to three grade 8s, with Sunny also celebrating success after achieving grade 7s or above across the board, including two grade 9s. Tony exceeded expectations, achieving two grade 9s, two grade 8s, and three grade 7s,with Armonie showcasing their expertise after earning top grades in French and Italian.

West Bromwich Collegiate Academy also has an Open Evening on Thursday 12 September for any families wanting to learn more about joining Year 7 in September 2025. The doors will be open from 4:30pm-8:00pm, no need to book just turn up.
GCSE subjects are marked under a 1-9 grading system, with 9 being the highest grade. GCSEs are linear in structure rather than modular, with all exams taken at the end of a two-year course. A grade 4 is effectively an old C grade with a grade 9 being the equivalent of an A*.
