On Monday, a group of our Year 9 students visited Christ Church College to kick off the launch of their Scholars Programme!

As well as being able to explore the wonderful sights of Oxford, students were treated to a special private tour of the historic college, including a visit to the mess hall which boasts an original painting of King Henry VIII.

Students had the opportunity to speak with current Oxford students about their experiences at the university and the application process. They were also able to ask questions and gain valuable insights into what it is like to attend and study at one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

Student Tegan F said, “A PhD tutor gave us an introduction of the programme and told us about the subjects and information about Oxford. We also met two students who attend Oxford who also did the Young Scholars Programme who answered any questions people had about university life. This trip was very exciting, interesting and an enormously great opportunity to visit such an amazing university.”

Charlie S, another one of our Year 9 students on the trip said, “The trip was helpful as it gave me a better understanding of university life and how I can adapt to it in the future. They also gave me insights and tips of how to take steps towards university.”

We are thrilled to hear that our students had such a wonderful and educational time at Christ Church College and we look forward to the continued success of our students as they pursue their interests in attending higher education in the future.
