On site this morning in the pouring rain but we have a bumper buildings update for you. Photos as always are in the buildings gallery.

Outside we see the end of the building has been sealed off and there are the very large glass panels on site today to be installed in the front of reception and the staircase windows. Exterior render continues to be added with the majority of the first coat now on the building. Once the rain breaks this will be completed. Continuing outside we see our multi-use games area taking shape and groundworkers beginning to landscape around the front of the building. They are also tarmacking all the exterior paths then they will move to replacing the temporary fencing with our final fencing.

As we move inside we see the ground floor classrooms are almost completed. Door frames have been added as well as power sockets and skirting boards. All that is left to do in these rooms is carpet tiles, doors and ceiling tiles and then they can have a final clean and be locked off. On the induction day there will be an opportunity to come into this area and see a completed classroom.

Moving through we can see the kitchen started and plumbing in the toilets with some toilets and sinks already fitted. The main hall and dining area are the largest areas still to complete, the large metal partition had been added and painting was being done as I was there, the final floor screeding is about to be started in this area.

Moving upstairs, the lift is just about to be commissioned and as we come to the first floor it looks very similar to the ground floor, again rooms just needing carpet tiles, doors and ceiling tiles, though in some rooms skirting and door frames were still being painted.

On the second floor much the same, we could see vinyl flooring being added to both the Science and Art rooms so it was good to see the final finishes being applied there. Its a very busy site at the moment and while we are certainly looking for a break in the weather, everything is progressing ready for our September start.
