Over half term we have installed an electronic lock system to our automated outer main reception doors. This added level of security and safeguarding will also improve the energy efficiency of the academy, as the doors won’t open and close automatically due to the movement of people in the reception area.
There is a buzzer and intercom system for visitors to use to contact reception and gain entry to the secure reception area, if you need to come in.
If you have an appointment to meet with a member of staff you are required to sign in to the Inventry system, receive and wear a visitors badge and the person you are meeting will come and collect you.
Please be aware that students who arrive late after the gates are locked are required to go to main reception to sign in. The new level of security will mean it may take longer for them to enter the building, to sign in and to be allowed through the second set of secure doors. It is crucial that students arrive to the academy by 8:40 to ensure they get to form by 8:45. Late marks and detentions will continue to be issued for students who are late with no valid reason.
